Contact Arts Alliance

Arts Alliance is the largest student-produced theatrical organization in the country. The purpose of Arts Alliance is to facilitate the production of entirely student produced theatre at Northwestern University. We seek to expand the scope of theatre at Northwestern by creating and fostering an environment where students can apply and develop their artistic and organizational abilities as producers, directors, actors, designers, and administrative staff. Through the productions, we seek to educate and entertain both the participants and the Northwestern and surrounding communities. Under the Arts Alliance umbrella are the mainstage shows, Mee-Ow, Graffiti Dancers, Melodious Thunk and others.

The Arts Alliance board is comprised of a President, Treasurer, at least two Technical Directors, a Publicity Director, a Public Relations Chair, two Production Supervisors, and the Producers of the entire season's shows.

Mission Statement

As a leader in not-for-profit educational theatre, Arts Alliance provides the campus with a wide variety of opportunities to express creativitiy through live performance. In doing so, Arts Alliance seeks the following objectives:

  • To maintain an educational and safe working environment as well as clear artistic vision.
  • To provide the highest quality of theatre for Northwestern students, and the greater Evanston and Chicago community within the context of our environment.
  • To present a variety of theatrical experiences, including dance, improvisational comedy, and vocal performance.
  • To allow Northwestern students to express their ideas, needs, and values through theater.
  • To provide learning experiences for students outside the traditional theatre curriculum.
  • To foster student artists as producers, directors, actors, designers, and staff.
  • To conduct business in a professional and fiscally sound manner.
  • To stimulate, challenge, entertain, and inspire both the audience and the artist.
